Joining this ambitious endeavor is tech giant Huawei, collaborating closely with MCIT to harness digital talent as a pivotal driver of Egypt’s competitive edge, envisioning Egypt as the central hub for digital prowess in the MENA region.
In a momentous development, strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were inked between MCIT, Egypt, and the esteemed National Telecommunication Institute (NTI). Presided over by His Excellency Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, and Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of NTI, these agreements mark a significant milestone in the nation's journey towards digital empowerment.
The first MoU lays the groundwork for the establishment of the Egyptian Talent Academy, poised to elevate the digital capabilities of students and graduates. Through immersion in Huawei’s cutting-edge training programs spanning fields such as 5G, AI, Cloud Computing, and Big Data, the academy aims to equip approximately 18,000 young Egyptians with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital realm over the next five years. Providing a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience under the tutelage of Huawei's global experts, this collaboration sets the stage for a new generation of digitally adept professionals.
Complementing this initiative, the second MoU paves the way for the accreditation of the National Telecommunication Institute as a specialized academy tasked with preparing Huawei trainers. Over the course of three years, the institute will spearhead training initiatives in fiber optic technology across Egypt, leveraging its extensive network of headquarters and centers.
