The Nokia Mobile Networks Middle East and Africa team prioritizes the health and safety of employees, customers, and partners. Valuable insights into these safety practices were gained during recent site visits to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and partner meetings with Gravity in South Africa. Nokia’s commitment to creating a safe environment in collaboration with customers and partners is exemplified by these experiences. The recognition and appreciation of the local partner's safety approach by government authorities during a construction site visit in Addis Ababa showcases the successful implementation of the safety initiatives in Ethiopia, made possible through Nokia’s partnership with Safaricom.

During the visit to Gravity in South Africa, the educational programs in place were found to be impressive, with a focus on working at heights and safety training for subcontractors and partners. The equipment used for lifting heavy loads was personally tested, demonstrating the effectiveness of different safety measures in preventing falls. These experiences highlight the effectiveness of our safety training programs and reinforce our dedication to creating a secure working environment.

Positive feedback was received from our new customer, Newroz, during a recent visit to Erbil, further validating our commitment to safety, continuous improvement and implementation of ethical business practices across the region. Nokia's purpose is to create technology that enables the world to act together, and Nokia is proud to contribute to building a secure and ethical business environment in the Middle East and Africa.

In conclusion, gratitude has been expressed to the entire Nokia team in the Middle East and Africa, as the safety and well-being of their people, including customers and partners, are of utmost priority. Efforts are made to ensure that everyone returns home safely after work, and the examples shared here serve as a testament to the continuous efforts in achieving this goal.
