The year started with a groundbreaking partnership extension between Microsoft and OpenAI, aiming to accelerate AI breakthroughs and ensure widespread access to these benefits. This was followed by the launch of an AI-powered Bing search engine and Edge browser in February, revolutionizing the world of search.
Since then, developments have unfolded at a rapid pace, marked by notable milestones:
- Azure OpenAI Service now offers increased support for ChatGPT and OpenAI's cutting-edge GPT-4 model, expanding its availability and capabilities.
- Copilots have been introduced across various domains, including Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, leveraging modern AI and large language models like GPT-4 to assist users with complex tasks.
- Bing, powered by AI, has expanded its presence to the Windows 11 taskbar, mobile and Skype, introducing new features like Bing Image Creator for chat and an open preview of the platform.
During the event, Microsoft made several significant announcements. They introduced the adoption of OpenAI's open plugin standard, which allows interoperability between ChatGPT, Bing, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft 365 copilots.
